This modern take on a traditional steamer basket is made from porcelain, terracotta and cedar wood.
Designed for use on different hob types, and in the oven or microwave, the JIA Steamer aims to maximise cooking efficiency, while helping food not get too waterlogged during cooking. When steaming buns or wontons, it's important that they do not absorb too much water, and the terracotta grid inside the basket helps to absorb excess moisture.
Simply fill the fire-proof porcelain base with water, pop the cedar and terracotta basket on and fill with wontons or other food to be steamed, and pop the porcelain lid on. The fire-proof porcelain will not buckle or crack in the heat, and the terracotta grid inside the cedar basket will help to absorb excess moisture, ensuring a perfectly steamed result.
