The problem with most recipe book stands is their bulky size and awkward shape, which takes up valuable space when not in use.
The unique design of CookBook avoids this, as it opens and folds exactly like a book, which means that it can be stored neatly away on a shelf with other books until required.
When opened, the bookrests, page holders and back stand automatically fold out, providing solid, angled support for most sizes of book or even an electronic tablet device. A non-slip foot at the base of the spine keeps the unit in place on the work surface during use. When closed, CookBook folds flat, becoming no thicker than an average-sized book (approx. 20mm). Made from high-quality ABS plastic, CookBook is also tough, stylish and easy to clean.

Quite possibly the most stylish AND functional cookbook stand I have ever had the pleasure of using! Best part about it is that it folds away EFFORTLESSLY without any pieces getting stuck. Just like closing a book. The inner 'book holding arms' are fitted with a cog mechanism that ensures the little arms and book rest close together neatly without buckling or risk of breaking off. Opening the book is just as easy by lifting the back arm/spine of the book. And voila, like magic or great design, it just opens.
I was initially sceptical because of the price of R395 (sounds better if you say it super fast,) but just love the JosephJoseph brand so wanted to try it out. I am so pleased I did! It is absolutely worth every cent.

Since buying it I have used it a lot. Holds all types of books at correct angle and stands sturdy. Best of all - it folds up like a book when you're done and easy to put away with your cookery books. No regrets.

When I received this I was very happy with it as beautifully designed. BUT I have only been using it for two days and already it is broken! My recipe book slipped while in the stand and the mechanism which holds the one side snapped out of its joints. As they are made of plastic they are now broken. So a total and utter waste of money.
I would not recommend this product to a friend.
