I just stumbled upon this product again on Yuppiechef and I have to reiterate my first review - this really is the best can opener I have ever had. For so many years I have struggled with flimsy little stainless steel openers, tried all sorts of noisy, chunky electric ones and nothing comes close to the slick, smooth and easy opening of this can opener. I know it sounds a bit nerdy but we actually feel disappointed when we have to open a can that comes with a pull-tab, such a condensed milk or some brands of butter beans. We LOVE to open cans. It really is that good.

After breaking the nth cheap can opener I splurged and bought a good quality one. This opener is solid and chunky but very easy to use. The mechanism is smooth. The opener opens up to 180 deg (flat) which makes cleaning & drying a breeze.

Who hasn't bought a can opener only to have it seize up on you after a few months' use - not being able to clean properly between the turning mechanism it becomes sticky & rigid and then it becomes almost impossible to open any thing. But I finally decided to buy a proper can opener, and this was it. Although I thought it was a bit pricy for a can opener, I am not regretting it. It's bold red handles are stunning, it opens a can effortlessly, and the best part of the design is that the handles can open 180 degrees, which means you can properly clean it, so no more stickiness. This is a great buy and I don't foresee investing in another can opener any time soon!
