They are a bit small, I guess that's why there is the 14cm now.
Love serving my oxtail in them. Also made pie in them...and Malva pudding.

Everything that's small is cute, right? This definitely holds true for the mini cocottes. With their tiny handles and lids they're irresistible and receive many compliments. Before buying these you should consider this though: They're really small. These are for desserts and small side dishes. If you try and feed someone an entree in this they might starve. Do consider whether that is what you want to do with them, or rather opt or the 14cm version.

That being said, these are PERFECT for their intended use - desserts, sides and appetizers. Potato gratins, roasted veggies, bread and butter pudding and crumbles, to name a few, work perfectly. You can also use them to portion out rice or couscous and serve them along with your entree. Dips look gorgeous in them.

Of course, in true Le Creuset fashion, the colours are gorgeous and there's a huge variety. If you're undecided, I suggest black. Being the only matte colour, they'll definitely stand out. They also provide the perfect background to serve any colour food in.

So in conclusion: Do you need them? No. Will they make you happy? Definitely!
