Behind the scenes of the braai shoot
On a bright and sunny September morning we headed over to Camps Bay where the fantastically friendly Nox Rentals welcomed us to what was to be our home for the day of our shoot: Gryphon House. And what a glorious spot it was to spend a day – picture postcard sea view, chic cream and glass finishes, manicured lawn and lavender and all under the watchful eye of Lion’s Head.
The first job of the day was to set up the Weber braais, ready for a day of charcoal action (high five, Ali).
Food stylist extraordinaire, Jules Mercer, then set to work on making all sorts of gourmet braai delights (a big thanks to Pia for her help in the kitchen too).
From beef fillet with chimichurri to fruit kebabs dipped in chocolate sauce, we made and tasted it all.
To the untrained eye this may look like hard work, but we survived the views and got to play with our latest and greatest braai tools.
A big thanks to Sean our Yuppiechef photographer for some cracking shots. Check out our Hot Products newsletter and look out for more braai-focused articles on this Spatula-shaped space. Also a big thank you to Nox Rentals (who have an incredible range of Atlantic Seaboard properties for rent) for finding us such a gem.
Over and out and thank you all.
