Fruit kebabs with chocolate sauce

Do figs and plums braaied to perfection then dipped in melted chocolate sound good to you? They tasted pretty good to us (happy memories of chocolate covered fingers and faces).

Experiment with your favourite fruits and consider doubling the chocolate sauce recipe as it will be devoured at lightning pace. We guarantee the table will fall silent when you bring these beauties out at your next braai.

Ingredients:
One bar of good quality chocolate
100ml milk
Fruit (we used figs and plums but you could use pineapple, peaches, strawberries or any fruit that takes your fancy).

You can use wooden skewers bought from your local store or you might like to stock up with some of these shiny ones.

Method:
1. Cut your fruit up into reasonably-sized chunks, either quartered or halved.
2. Thread a mixture of your fruit onto skewers.
3. Grill your skewers on the braai for a few minutes until the fruit has started to soften. Be careful not to place your fruit on a braai that is too hot as you don’t want it to turn to mush.
4. For the chocolate sauce, break up your chocolate and place in a saucepan with approximately 100ml of milk. Allow the chocolate to melt over a low heat but watch that it doesn’t burn. Et voilà.

A perfectly simple but oh-so-elegant braai pudding. Any other suggestions for exciting braai puddings?
