Reach homemade granola gold

Having a jar of granola on standby is a wise healthy breakfast strategy. Especially if you make it yourself and include all the things you love (cranberries, toasted almonds, plump raisins, fresh coconut chips). Pair it with some fresh seasonal fruit, top it with Bulgarian yoghurt and you’ll be A for away.

How to make your own granola

Ingredients:
80g butter
125ml (1/2 cup) honey
250g rolled oats
100g slivered almonds
50g pumpkin seeds
50 sunflower seeds
50g sultanas
50g raisins

Method:
1. Pre-heat oven to 160°C.
2. Place butter and honey in a saucepan and gently melt over low heat.
3. Mix together the oats, almonds, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds until combined and pour over the warm honey mix.
4. Stir well to coat and place on a large baking tray, lined with baking paper.
5. Bake in oven for 25-30 minutes or until crisp and golden brown.

6. Remove tray from oven and allow to cool completely before adding the sultanas and raisins. Store in an airtight container.
