Kyocera Ceramic Knives now available on Yuppiechef
Ceramic knives are lightweight and maintain their sharpness for much longer that traditional high carbon steel knives. Although the traditionalists are not too convinced yet, the Ceramic knife movement is well under way and is growing across the globe slice by slice.
Like diamonds and sapphires, the elements of ceramic are formed in nature through thousands of years of crystallization, extreme temperatures and literally tons of pressure. The result is a pure, dense, unrelenting material that is harder than steel, close to diamond in hardness.
Will a ceramic knife break or shatter if I drop it? Any knife is at the risk of being damaged if not handled correctly. Follow a few basic knife care rules and you will be assured of your knife’s longevity.
We managed to find an interview with Chef Ming Tsai where he talks about one of his favourite knives, the Kyocera FK-180.
Kyocera Ceramic knives are available from Yuppiechef here. We still deliver for FREE anywhere in South Africa.
