Each month, a team within our team chooses a theme and puts on a marvellous spread for everybody – and the competition is mounting… Most recently, we were treated to a Mad Hatter breakfast and to say our breath was taken away is no exaggeration.

Ali, Erin, Noel, Ntando and Warren (who had only been with us a week when he was roped in) went as far as hiring Alice in Wonderland costumes and Ntando will forever be remembered for his white ears and fluffy tail…

The entry requirement for all of us included donning a hat of sorts, and after following a trail of playing cards we feasted on handmade rostis, poached eggs with hollandaise sauce, crispy bacon and smoked salmon on English muffins and of course, excellent Bean There coffee.

After breakfast, we were ushered through to the back of the warehouse for a surprise steel drum jamming session and after a crash course in making steel music, played through some classics together. Good times. We could have played all day.

Who knows what the next breakfast, taking place this Friday, will hold… The bar is high and all eyes are on the next team to take the stage.
